Lotte World commissioned Daniel Flannery to create the main attraction of the Lotte Pavilion for the 1993 Taejon World Expo in South Korea. The attraction was voted by the media as “one of the top three attractions at the Expo.” The attraction is a theatre with stadium seating. The stage, designed specifically for this attraction, contained hundreds of custom fountains and water features, hydraulic scenic elements of sculptural waves and splashes with integrated water effects, a 50’ tornado of water with an inferno core of real fire, and an animatronic creature that was part mermaid and part angel. At the close of the Expo the attraction was relocated to a permanent facility in Lotte World Seoul S. Korea. There the attraction entertained audiences daily for nearly 20 years.
